A new religion

I might be a Hindu or christian or Muslim or a Buddhist, but whats the point of this differentiation anyway?

I would rather consider myself confused than believing in something or anything  blindly and take sides for it.

Let me be genuine.. There is no grudge here towards the terminology 'religion'. So what are we discussing here??

What should be the purpose of Religion and its divisions, if any??

Is the main purpose of any religion peaceful co existence of us, 'Humans' ? Is that purpose  fullfilled? If not then why is there violence in it's name? when there is violence and discrimination, then that divine purpose is failed as well.

Religion is now the trumpcard for the powerful corporates to bend rules and manipulate people (using media) into doing whatever they want them to do. People, including me are blindly willingly to follow anything in the name of religion or an ideology. Religion is like fire, because if you dont handle it with care, it could burn  down things literally.

Dont you think religion has gone too far from where it is supposed to be. Most religious fights happen in the name of freedom of religion. What we actually require is freedom of speech, not freedom of religion and that freedom should be respected between either parties regardless of their faith. If anyone is put on harms way in the name of any religion, then I would say "to hell with that religion and its ideologies".

No one has the right to impose his or her religious views on another person. 90% of the people like to argue about the greatness of his religion. Why cant they just respect the other person's religion as well instead of trying hard to convince him/her that he/she is blind and his/her god doesnt exist. I totally respect their beliefs and would love to learn more about their religions but they have to respect my beliefs as well. Most people are so serious about this kind of matter and sensitive too.

As I told, I do believe in God, but the only problem is which one to believe in. Being brought up as a Hindu, we are polytheists. Even if there was only one God for Hindus, did that god only created the Hindus???

I mean the people on other parts of the world!!! Are they created by another God? Like Christians by Yehowah and Muslims by Allah and so on...Are we that naive to buy that.. if there is a god there is only one ... that God could be our inner selves, inner beauty, the sun which keeps earth alive, the earth itself, all kinds of energies or maybe a superior alien race.... who knows !

If ever, I were to choose a religion, I would pick Gandhi as a religion and my holy book shall be his autobiography.

The rules shall be simple. Behold Truth & practice Ahimsa. You wouldn't require to visit churches or temples or mosques regularly and make prayers. You just need to live a non-violent, honest life, respect others culture and beliefs, help eachother etc. There wont be any idiotic debates between religious leaders, on whose belief or religion is the path to ultimate peace and self redemption. There won't be anymore pandemoniums created by some religious extremists and therefore no blood spilled in the name of it.

I contemplate that this itself would bring us some peace of mind and even eradicate the need for war atleast to some extend. The Idea is to live and let live. What do you think?

Moved in to our new home at Aashaamam, Kollam. The housewarming function went well yesterday, except I missed the whole party. As the title says it is "a place called home" to me as this reality out there is just stories told on phone and pictures send through email to me now. Cant wait to see my room. Missing everyone so badly and I am sure they miss me.
This is gonna add up my excitement sky high, the next time I fly to India. Let that happen soon ..Inshallah..

My first short story

Writing my first script… or short story…. I have been thinking of this for a long time …. Have been really lazy to write it down.. the only time I feel like writing is when I had something to study for an exam. I really get inspired during such critical times… my studies is not like normal people.. it is the last minute one… which means “now or never” kind of task. If I sat down to write then I will surely fail.

The first time in my life I decided to sit down and write the story that made me really excited. I don’t know if it is good or bad but when you have something in your head that you think is a potential short story, how long can you be lazy enough to not write it down. So I decided to write it as my conscience keep blaming me with constant abuses.

I am half way through. Trying to put it down in great detail. I believe it shouldn’t be rushed too much as the words should be pleasing and people should like it. So taking my time.

Out of the comfort zone

Just had a small vaccation to India last month. Just 7 days and now it feels like a warm dream. It was fun to be with family after nearly 1 year. I realized that I have changed a lot when I spend time with my family. The kids were so sweet and the most exciting was our new home. It is still in construction, but will be ready by the end of this year. Soon I will have to go home again to stay in our new home.

Another exciting thing is my part time degree that I started attending along with my work. Its pretty stressfull but still fun as I have some malayalee friends with me in the class.

Also wrote a small story which I plan to shoot one day. I have been discussing threads with some friends and also have an idea to make a short film. I already bought my camcorder. All I need is to write it down into a script.

Will keep posted on more happenings soon. Life out of my comfort zone begins here.

Madhav telling story

My little nephew 4 year old Madhav is telling me a story before going to bed. From what I understand the story is his point of view of his life and experiences. It was so cute. It doesnt make any sence but its worth listening to. For those who love kids.
